There's always lots of other things to take photos of when I'm at an event in the countryside and Mentmore proved to be no exception, even though I didn't wander very far from the village green . .  

there were some stunning views across South Bedfordshire . .

and plenty to see in the village itself too . .

including, of course, a pub belonging to Formula 1 driver Mark Webber, the Stag . .

there were a few intriguing signs around . .

one rather fine looking tractor . .

and plenty of wild things too, enjoying the summer sunshine . .

with several major airports not too far away there were plenty of planes keeping me amused . .

whilst Karen, who was also taking photos, saw these before me . . a beautiful Red Kite . . and the old moon fading away, high in the sky . .
