Once again my photography has taken me to a part of the country I'd never visited before, and I hope I get back there again because Adderbury and the countryside around it are lovely. And once again I found myself taking photos of the sort of race I used to love to take part in. Not sure I'll ever run 13 miles again but it's fun to be part of the occasion when others do . .

Race Headquarters are here, in the Lucy Plackett Playing Field . .

where I managed to slip past these cakes without removing any . . the playing field was busy and full, with some Junior and Kids Runs taking place before the Half Marathon and 10k took place . .

starting at 9.45, the 10k runners came straight across the field before setting off on their way out of Adderbury, whilst the Half Marathon runners veered to the left and ran a circuit of the field before getting on their way . .

I then walked the wrong way around the course, to a point where I knew I'd see the 10k runners once, and those running the longer event twice. I knew there was a windmill in a cabbage field up there, and hoped to be able to include it in some of my runner photos . . but hadn't expected to find these happy smiley drink station people too . .

some walkers had set off on the Half Marathon at 8.30, and soon they and the runners began climbing the hill towards us . .

I can't explain why, but on the three occasions that Half Marathon winner David Bruce ran by, I never did get a clean photo of him . .

and once most of the runners had gone by, it was time to set off on the walk back to Adderbury . .

I'm grateful to Adderbury Running Club for allowing me to come along and take photos of their event . . and thank you also to the runners who smiled and waved as they came by . .
