the Volunteers discuss their plan of action for the day, whilst keeping dry, of course . . whilst Sam puts the exclusion zone around the emerging croci

it's still not 8.30 but the start and finish flags are up, so anybody wanting to take advantage of the new "8:30" club and set off ahead of the pack and take a little longer was able to do so . . I don't think anybody did this week . . hardly surprising perhaps given that it was trying to snow . . there's another one next Saturday after all!!

Sally and Charlie, up from the Midlands to support at that afternoon's National XC Championships over at ROundhay Park, came along to find out more about parkrun as they're interested in becoming involved locally . . by coincidence in the park where I did all my cross country runs as a school boy . . so no doubt once that particular parkrun gets going I'll be taking my camera there too . .

Sally has represented GB&NI in the Olympic Games and England in the Commonwealth Games at the marathon (amongst many other running accomplishments) and it was a pleasure to meet her ☺

parkrun is much more than a run, it's a community, and whilst maybe not everyone's quite as enthusiastic at meeting and greeting as Jaz is here, I know that all over the UK (and in a corner of Denmark too), shortly before 9 o'clock on a Saturday morning, hundreds if not thousands of faces light up because they've bumped into someone they haven't seen since the last time!!

this week the Lucozade Sport lady was with us in Leeds too . . and after the run she was much busier than this . . because it's almost time to get parkrun #124 underway . .
