With a 9.30 start the CPM Thame 10k is a bit of an early start, although it's just as well because any later and even the spectators would have melted! So when I arrived at 8.15 there weren't too many runners around and the people from host club Thame Runners were just putting the finishing touches to the start and finish area in the Sports field . .

it wasn't long before entries began to be taken for the Fun Run . . and the Scouts were ready to serve tea and coffee . .

and the field began to fill up with aspiring, and perspiring, runners . .

the team from Woodstock Harriers found shelter from the blazing sun under one of the few trees around, whilst my clubmates from Tring Running Club, and the runners from Bearbrook Joggers, decided that acclimatisation out of the shade was the better option . .

and as more runners and spectators filled up the area alongside the start . .

some runners still felt the need to warm up on the hottest morning of the year . .

you'd never know there were over 800 other runners in the same field . .

and shortly before the runners moved into the start area . .
