Never having been to this part of Yorkshire before I hadn’t known what to expect in the way of scenery. I like to find a spot to take my photos during the race that’s out of the ordinary, with the runners passing something interesting.

I knew that the race went through a Nature Reserve and figured I’d walk there and see if I could find somewhere special. I was blown away by what I found, with a bright red poppy field and blue shimmering lake, and I spent a glorious hour or so with the sun beating down, in the company of dragonflies, butterflies and all kinds of birds, whilst I shouted encouragement to the runners as they raced past . .
