the first place for most runners to visit when they got to Staveley (well, maybe the second one actually) was Race HQ, to collect race numbers  . .

and to have a look at the incentives for finishing well, or indeed for finishing at all . .

although personally, making sure I finished whilst there was some of this lovely Cayke left would have been incentive enough!!

someone with green fingers had been very busy preparing all these plants . .

and before long there was a good collection of people sat outside, waiting for race time, enjoying the sun, and perhaps taking the chance to fuel up ready for the 10 miles that lay ahead . . although some took the fuelling up more seriously than others, clearly . .

I'm sure there's a joke here about prices going up but I can't quite figure it out . . and here's the finish line before all the runners got in the way . .
