regular readers will remember that last week I tried, and failed by 5 seconds, to beat my previous week's time of 27.36. this week I was able to try again . . and I judged my pace much better this time and finished in 27.09 (my Garmin generously suggested 26.58 but I suspect operator error may have occurred somewhere along the line) . .

as soon as I'd handed my finish token in, and had my bar code swiped (it's okay though, coz I got it back!), and dropped to the floor exhausted!! As I leant against a conveniently positioned tree and stretched out . . and regained my breath . . I took photos of those I could see around me . .

and here, starting with Race Director and General Multi-Tasker Heather, are just some of the volunteers you can expect to see at Bedfont Lakes . . some having raced as well as helped with some task or other . . some having raced this time but who've volunteered in the past and no doubt will do so again . . and finally others who didn't race today so that the rest of us could . . aren't they great!!!

and the cooling down was reminiscent of the warming up . .

and eventually I did haul myself back onto my feet and mooched around taking photos again!

until Sharon regaled us with an excellent demonstration of open air swimming . . after which it was time for breakfast . .

this week we end with a public service message . .

do download, print, and bring, your parkrun barcode . . post-race registration is so much simpler . . especially for those of us with names that everyone else want to spell wrong!!

see you next week, when Martin will be running and I'll be taking dozens and dozens of photographs . .
