As soon as the 10k was under way, the finishing touches were made to the finish area . . the mats put in place and so forth . . although some seem to have been busier than others . .

that's a long finishing straight, but let's look on the bright side . . it's flat . . and it didn't seem very long before the lead bike came around the corner, closely followed by the winning athlete . .

there was quite a way between the winner and the second placer . . and another good long gap to number three . . but then the runners started coming through in numbers . .

Spare a thought for this runner who had to trudge back to Race HQ, unable to complete the 10k . . hope the injury heals quickly . .

And then it was time to clear up and store the equipment . . whilst we returned to Race HQ . .
