Race HQ . . Bedford International Athletic Stadium . .

and inside there was plenty of room for chilling, entering on the day, and all the other things that need to be done before taking part in a race . .

like gazing wistfully at Cayke!!

the race doesn't start at HQ however . . so having admired the size of Bedford Harriers' chips and wondered what it was that caused Noel to double take, it was time to cross the road and stroll down to the start area . .

where we found that preparations were almost complete at the start . .

some people we can't have a race without . .

and a great memento for everyone taking part . .

and as more runners and spectators filled up the area alongside the start, some serious marshalling was needed . .

some were warming up and practising their finishes (might need to dip a little more there) . . whilst others preferred to conserve their energy . .

and there were Bedford Harriers everywhere!!

I assumed it was a coincidence that this stretching session was looking so co-ordinated . .

until I caught sight of Mr Motivator!!

others were stretching independently of everyone else . . and the runners were beginning to assemble behind the start line . .

with a few who timed their warm ups to perfection just getting back in time . .
