The hills certainly were alive on Sunday when the 29th Ridgeway Run took place . . although whoever designed the picture below forgot to include any runners or mountain bikers . .

I thought I was early when I arrived, but there were those who'd already been busy for some time. Bizarrely, the first thing to be taken care of is always the finish funnel . .

and there were already runners preparing for the run . .

whilst Helen was busy inputting the final few entries . .

Down at Marshcroft Lane the start was a very quiet place 30 minutes before the start . . whilst the marshals were busy getting in position . .

Shortly after 10 o'clock the 2 leading runners came into view at the other end of Marshcroft Lane . . and 7 minutes later over 500 runners had made their way up towards the Ridgeway . .

This gave me 22 minutes to get round to Pitstone Hill car park, and up onto the windswept hill side . .

before James Buis came into view, on his way to his fourth consecutive Ridgeway Run victory . . and after a further 50 minutes . . those same 500+ runners had passed by once again . .

There was just time for me to get back to the finish and see a few runners at the end of their adventure . .

time for the race winner to complete his warm down, and for the marshals to get back to Race HQ  . .

before we ended the event with the prize giving . . and a special presentation to two of Tring Running Club's long serving members who will be much missed now they have moved away . .
