Whilst I waited for the runners to return I enjoyed looking around . . and as always, if you look hard enough, there's plenty to see . . one friend of mine was delayed on her way to the race, and set off on her own some way behind everyone else . . and soon afterwards, the race winner Amy Chalk came striding down the slope . . followed by 166 other runners in the largest ever Candleford Canter . . not too many men running, but Trevor, a clubmate of mine at Tring, was out supporting his daughter . . doing some shopping too, by the looks of things . . almost at the finish . . and this runner has difficulty in keeping the contents of her hard-earned goody bag to herself . . and as I walked past the St John's Ambulance people (where would we be without them?) they were already discussing where they'd be the following weekend . . |
