Waiting for all the runners at the finish of parkrun are the Volunteers - the marshals and helpers who make the event possible. Today they included Joe Luca Ninja Timekeeper!

Inevitably, being the morning it was, staying awake wasn't easy for all of us . .

There was the unavoidable queuing, but with the obvious bonus of being able to compare hangovers and/or resolutions . .

And because some of us like to take our time running around the chosen parks of the UK and Denmark, others had to hang around and wait after registration . .

But this was just as much fun as running, because some kind folk had brought Hot Chocolate, and Mince Pies, and lots of other goodies to share with everyone . .

Race Director Sam, and Chris, who had just completed his 100th parkrun, display examples of what they hope will soon be obligatory headwear for Volunteers and all parkruns . .

And finally, here's a candidate for an early bath . .
