As Queen Victoria looked forward to another Glorious Year on the throne . .

parkrunners gathered to participate in the first Leeds parkrun of the New Year, and for the first time, the first parkrun of the year attracted over 100 runners . . 119 to be exact . . together with enough Volunteers to make sure the event ran smoothly . .

The Changing Tree stayed the same . .

And down by the Duke of Welly, the waiting throng grew each minute as the start time of 9am approached . .

Race Director Sam, ably assisted by a Ninja Timekeeper and a man from a Tango ad, welcomed everyone warmly, of course, and amongst other things, mentioned that if Chris Jones were to complete today's event he would become a parkrun Centurion . . fortunately we were spared the sight of Chris running in a red tunic but who knows what he might wear next week!!

It wasn't long before Sam said "off you go then" or something to that effect . . and the 167th Leeds parkrun was under way . .

And there they were gone!! Unfortunately, as often seems to be the case when I bring my camera to Leeds, the light was poor and I struggled to get that perfect photo I strive for . . so please forgive me for the less than clear and sharp images . .
