soon after 8 am the Volunteers rolled up and the first thing to do was to attach the arrows to the posts, so they could be placed around the course to help the runners and their navigation . .

once the arrows were in position we set off to walk the route, and below is the first post being pushed into the earth . .

and from there we moved on to where the finish needed to be, and some of us continued to position the arrows in appropriate places . .

whilst this was going on I took some views of the course . . the first photo below was taken from the start - the middle photo looks up the slope that greets the runners after they've turned right at the end of the first straight - and the 3rd photo is looking back down the same slope . . the finish is about ⅔rds of the way up the slope . .

the rest of the course covers sweeping bends and rolling ups and downs, some of which are shown below, although the photos weren't necessarily taken looking in the right direction . .

and by the time I'd taken the photos above, prospective parkrunners had started to gather on the starting straight . .
