Once the Race was underway and the runners were making their way around the sports fields, I "sprinted" out into the fields to get into place for some photos of all the runners on their way to Bradgate Park . .

 . . once they'd hurried by I set off after them, hoping to get to the same spot as I took photos from the previous year . . and looking forward to seeing everything around me with its covering of snow . .

 . . and having stayed at the bottom end of the wall for almost an hour I decided it was time to follow the runners back to Race HQ . . and take photos of the ones still behind me as they came by . .

 . . and I seemed to get my timing right as I was almost back at the finish when the last runner came past . . although unfortunately the Finish banner was being taken down and there was no point in me showing off my fast finish . . note the trail in the snow, made by all the runners heading for the line . .
