We had an earlier start to the Bearbrook 10k this year, but only the sunshine seemed to forget and turn up late. But the dull start to the morning couldn't detract from another great event, and the only problem I had was that there wasn't enough time to talk to everyone I bumped into before and after the 10k . .

As well as a new start time, we had a new Start . . and so instead of having to line up outside Aylesbury Rugby Club on the road ready to run, the runners set off on their journey to Wendover and Halton and back from the rugby field itself . . so these marshals were needed to hold up the traffic . .

Defending champion Anuradha Cooray set off at a scorching pace . . breaking the course record by 40 seconds whilst winning in a great time of 30 minutes 42 seconds . . the rest of us can dream, can't we . .

Once the race was underway I took my step ladder up the road and found a spot beside the aerodrome in the 9th kilometre . . and waited . .

And of course it wasn't very long before Anuradha came round the bend and down the slope towards me . . followed by a long ribbon of runners . .

On their way to the Finish, which unlike the Start, hadn't moved from previous years . .

Once I returned to the rugby field I was too busy talking and missed the beginning of the presentation . . but here's the Vale of Aylesbury AC team receiving the men's team trophy . . and for most of us, that was the end of this year's Bearbrook 10k . .

I'm very grateful to my friends at Bearbrook Running Club for having me along to take photos again this
year . . congratulations on another great event . .
