Once you'd parked your car and got to Race HQ, the first thing to do was to collect your chip . .

and this photo, taken after the original race start time at 10.35, shows that in the shade (of the baggage tent here), the frost was hanging around . .

but there was plenty of room inside the Pavilion, and plenty of drink and food runners' fuel, to keep the runners happy whilst outside the officials debated when to start the race . .

and there was plenty of room outside for everyone to gather (because for those of us wrapped up against the weather, actually, it was too hot inside the Pavilion) . .

so whilst we waited for the race to start . . the finish areas was ready . .

the t-shirts were ready . . the marshals were ready . . and the St John Ambulance were ready . .

there were signs everywhere, so the course was ready . .

there was even a queue of unemployed signs . .

and the start area was ready too . .

so finally, shortly before 11 o'clock, when the marshals brought the runners down to the start, we were all ready for another excellent Andy Reading 10k . .
