After the disappointment of the previous Saturday, when the eagerly anticipated first ever Milton Keynes parkrun had to be postponed because of the dreadful winter weather, it was great to finally get under way . .

The morning was wet and windy, but that meant no ice on the roads to MK, which was a good thing, given that the volunteers were travelling from places like Bedford, Bicester and Aylesbury . .

I arrived just as Gareth, Noel and Simon were setting off to put the signs around the course and so I got the cushy job of hanging around in the entrance to Race HQ at LA Fitness to reassure prospective parkrunners that they were in the right place. We hadn't discussed how many runners to expect but it did seem to me that they just kept coming, more and more of them . . and in the end we were thrilled to discover that we had 44 runners, in lousy weather, who had come out to be part of this new adventure . .

You can find the different photos by clicking on the buttons to the left - clicking intro to MK parkrun will bring you back to this page . . there's a page of the start, a special page for the Volunteers, because they're special, and a page with a few photos taken after the race in the warmth of the coffee shop . .

You'll find lots of photos of the runners finishing by clicking on "the runners" . .

I come along to parkruns to take photos for the same reason as you run them, for enjoyment and fun and although I do sell photos taken at other races, I don't sell those that I take at parkruns. If you would like a high resolution version of any of the photos (the images on display being low res), please get in touch, tell me which photo and I'll gladly send you the file.

You're also welcome to download the photos from these pages, but if you use them for anything that others may see, please tell them the race photographer dot com took it. Thanks!
