I had a feeling it might not be my day when I drew back the curtains and saw the filthy weather, and then on the way to Hyde Park took a wrong turn, and then another wrong turn . . and so arrived not very long before the start . .

It turned out that I wasn't the only one having a bad morning - the Race Directors had arrived to find that the Police had placed a white tent across the path some 50 metres from the start . . and that 2 Officers of the Law were there to ensure that everyone using the Park kept well clear of the obstruction. They were unable to say why the tent was there, and following a quick google five days later, I've found no information and am none the wiser . .

parkrun RD's and of course, parkrunners themselves, aren't going to let something like this get in the way of their morning's fun . . and so shortly after 9am Leeds parkrun number 112 was under way, with just a slight, extremely muddy and slippery, diversion from the regular course . .

it didn't take long for the 143 runners to pass me by . . and in fact it didn't seem to take much longer for the leaders to come around again on their first big lap of the Park . .
