This is the page where I show you some of the things you may have missed because you were running around so quickly . . but be patient, do look through them, because there are plenty of runners in the photos . . and they're having a great time too, by the look of things . .

after I'd spent about 15 minutes up on the Downs, the runners began to appear in the distance . . lots of lycra clad Lowry people on the ridge, slowly becoming bigger as they approached me . .

and it doesn't take very long for them to become life-sized . . although I suspect there may have been a false start back beside the Tring Road!!!

it doesn't take long to get across to Ravensdell Woods, and the point where the ½ marathon splits from the 2 longer distances . .

and once almost everyone had passed me up by the Woods (I think I missed 2 runners), I drove back down to the start area, hoping to see everyone coming back down on their way to the finish . . I missed the first two guys in the ½ (sorry fellas, you were just too quick for me) . . and here are some of you on your way down . .

why not make it even more difficult?!!

I don't know if these girls from Wotton Road Runners always run down hill like this, or if they saw me and were just showing off . . doesn't matter really, they gave me these great photos!!

more Wotton Road Runners, not quite running in such close formation as their clubmates . .

and again . . do these two girls always run down hill like this? Seems to be great fun, whatever the reason!!

and here are some Bedford Harriers getting in on the act . . it's great to see so many big smiles on runners' faces at the end of a tough hilly run . .

Closely followed by their special marshal . .

Here's the winning marathon lady, carefully reading her run directions . .

followed by a bunch of St Albans' Striders, who really do need to polish up their formation running . .

and then it was time for me to go . . and I took the left hand turn at the bottom of the hill . . see you all next year
