This week, in my ceaseless quest to find somewhere new to take my photos from, I realised that I might be able to stand on one of the rises behind the start and finish area, to watch the start of the parkrun, and then, after stumbling a few metres across the very squelchy crest of the slope, I'd have a second opportunity to take photos of everyone early in the run . .

I just about made it in time, although I didn't get quite as close to the action as I'd hoped, and my camera was set wrong, which is why a few of the next photos are a wee bit fuzzy. I also discovered later that I'd forgotten to press the shutter of my video camera, so there's no video from me this week . . elementary schoolboy errors!

This little clutch of parkrunners were helping Vanessa and Gerard each enjoy their 100th parkruns. They're the runners carrying the balloons . .
