After one foggy one, one cold and grey one, and one that had to be cancelled because it was too icy, this was Ashton Court's first sunshiny parkrunday of the new year. 299 friends chased up and down the hill under a beautiful clear blue sky. Before the photos, here's a little video of the early stages . .

The sun was low in the sky as we gathered at Ashton Court park, and there was still a layer of frost at the start and finish area. But we were confident that the sun would burn it off, and so it did, mostly, and so off we went . .

I ran up the hill with everyone to the point where the course veers sharply to the left across the golf course, where I waited for the runners to come back down. I didn't have long to wait, and once they'd all gone I followed them back down again to find that most of the 299 bodies had disappeared . .
