I only went to Cleeve to support some friends taking part in this event. I took my camera bag with me because that's what I do when I can't run, but hadn't planned to take everyone's photo. And when I got to the Lord Nelson (which was Race HQ) it was raining hard and so wasn't promising from a photographer's point of view . .

Fortunately it stopped raining, and I just couldn't resist taking photos of just about everyone. I walked past the start line with less than 10 minutes to go before the race was due to start, and ran and walked as far as I could up the hill through Goblin Combe, hoping to get to an open space with some daylight. But I never did reach the top, and had to do the best I could amongst the trees, with a busy Woodpecker providing me with some interesting background noise. Unfortunately, having hurried up the hill in normal street clothes, I was over-heating and as soon as I stood still my glasses, and the camera viewfinder, quickly misted up. I couldn't see who or what I was taking photos of, which made the whole exercise more challenging than usual!

Once everyone had run by, I ambled back down to the main road, taking photos of some of the many things which caught my eye as I did. Unfortunately I'd failed to find out where the finish was and so instead of making my way directly there I had to go via the Lord Nelson (and no, I didn't have time for a beer!) and only arrived at the finish 5 minutes before the race winner . .
