I had hoped to get further along the course to take my photos of all the runners but when the blue sky disappeared I decided that if I went in amongst the trees the light would be inconsistent and would limit my photography . . so unfortunately I was positioned at the top of a short sharp rise at about 9½k . . and whilst marshal Julie and I waited for the runners to reach us, I found some wild flowers to enjoy . .

Once the runners had all gone by, we chased them to the finish . .

This is what our sport is all about . . Yvonne (in the red and black) was taking part in her first 10k . . and her club mates from Nidd Valley Road Runners looked out for her and ran with her to the finish line . .

After the afternoon's hard work everyone had deserved some rest and refreshment . .

. . and then it wasn't long before the prize giving took place . .

Finally . . before I go . . some interesting flags, and some signs not normally found at a running race . .

and of course, the Cracking Little Yorkshire run's very own road sign . .
