Here's a brief video of the start of this year's race . .

The Bearbrook 10k was the first event I took part in when I moved to Aylesbury in 2003, and I always enjoy returning to take photos of the race . .

. . the organisers faced new challenges this year as the rugby club, which always provides such a great HQ for the event . . is a building site and alternative arrangements had to be made . .

It's a good life . . being a marshal . .

The race began at 9.30 in bright sunshine . . and it was odd not to see the winner of the past 3 years, Anuradha Cooray, leading the way . . but he was down in London, representing Sri Lanka in the Olympic Marathon for Men . . and so we would have a new winner for the first time since 2009 . .

As soon as the runners had gone by I made my way up towards Halton . . closely followed by this group of marshals, who would be overseeing the runners' progress in the final couple of kilometres . .

When I got to Halton the sun was just about still shining, and I didn't have long to wait before Chiltern Harrier Fabian Downs came around the corner, leading the 373 runners down through the village . .

I followed the race back to the finish and didn't have long to wait for the final few runners, and tail runner Jonathan, to finish their races . .

It didn't take long for the results to be prepared and the prize-giving to start . .

. . and it was great to see the women of David Lloyd Redway Runners celebrating their first ever victory in the Mo Farah manner . .

Many thanks to Bearbrook Running Club for welcoming me to their event once again . . and to the runners for smiling and waving as they came by . . and to a select few, for their impressions of the Mobot . .
