There were lots of goodies waiting for the runners to finish their races . .

. . the guys on the left were looking after the race timing equipment, backed up by those in the centre who were recording each finisher. On the right we see that your ankle seems to be much further away than usual immediately after a 10k, when you have to bend down and remove your timing chip . .

and here's where those timing chips all went after the races . .

I wasn't able to take photos of the prize giving as I was in the wrong place . . so here from a distance, is what we could see from over beside the finish gantry . .

 

 

Once the runners had completed their races many of them remained in the Park, maybe waiting for friends to finish, or for a chat with other runners, or perhaps just because it's a nice place to spend a couple of hours on a sunny Sunday morning . .

 

 

And as the event came to a close, GB International Discus thrower Abdul Buhari posed for photos with representatives of Newham Borough Council, Run England and English Athletics . .

Meanwhile, the steel band played on . .
