The first thing that struck me as I walked into Norman Park for the Bromley Sport Relief Mile event was the music coming over the tannoy, as Maidstone Hospital Radio set up their equipment . . maybe I should get out more but it's been a long time since I heard Golden Earring and Alice Cooper pounding across a sports field! As one of the Sports Massage guys said, it was a shame I couldn't take a photo of the music . . and this being England, of course, the catering was up and running before almost anything else for those much needed cups of tea!!

there's lots of work to do before the crowds arrive, setting up the display stands, and I had it easy, being able to stroll round whilst watching others hard at work . .

this wouldn't have been Sports Relief without plenty of Red and White . .

and as the focus of the day would be the 3 races, over 6, 3, and 1 mile, the finish area had to be established with all the goody bags and medals made ready for the finishers . .

Chris wanted to pretend she'd run several miles, but I've given the game away . . and all the medals and ribbons usually provide an interesting image . .

lots and lots of balloons, of course . . glad I wasn't helping blow them up!

and equipment, and boxes, and volunteers all needed taking to their particular places . .

whilst the signs and marshals for the 3 races all needed setting up . .

and as time passed, and people arrived, the registration desk began to get busy . .

and whilst all this business was taking place, for some, Sunday morning carried on as normal . .
