Sunday 27 April 2003 saw a good number of RW Forumites getting together at Stratford-on-Avon for what turned out to be a tougher than expected event . . . .
The race started in fine sunny weather at 1 pm but as the afternoon went by the sun went in and the marathon runners finished in very cool conditions.
As always these races were extremely well organised, with plenty of water stations and the occasional portaloo appearing in the middle of nowhere.
The races started
outside Stratford's Royal Shakespeare Theatre and finished with a very pleasant and almost soothing quarter mile alongside the River Avon.
(Thanks to Scotty and Angi for the good pics below, apologies for the
quality of some of the others . . they only go to prove that when you
bought
a digital camera for £40 in 2003,
you got what
you paid for. Portraits were fine-ish IF I pointed it in the right
direction, but it couldn't cope with any views, so the shots I got of the few
people I recognised as
they finished just weren't worth reproducing. I've moved on since then.)
