To Puddle, or Not To Puddle? That was the Question this morning down beside the Lakes at Bedfont . .

I hadn't expected to take photos today, but of course, what the Race Director asks for, the Race Director gets, so when Sharon suggested that I take some photographs to complement those that Martin would take, who was I to refuse?

It was a bright and clear morning, the first on a Saturday in this part of the world for a few weeks now, but it was still very wet underfoot and it's quite clear that our runners were split into two separate camps - those who run through puddles, and those who run around them. Everyone still got pretty muddy and damp, no matter which route they followed! No matter what their age, or their ability, or their gender, some go through and some go round . .

You're either a Top Bomber - causing as great a Splash as Possible, or you're a Buffalo Girl (or Boy) - and you Go Round The Outside . .

If the puddle on the last bend was anything to go by, some runners must have covered closer to 5½k if they went around them all . .

the menu on the left should help you find your way round these pages . . this page is the Bedfont Lakes intro . . click on before and after and that's when the photos on that page were taken . . click on the runners and you'll find links to pages of the runners taken at two points during the parkrun . . click on more photos to see photos from other parkruns

below . . lots of things to see up in the sky at the Lakes . .

a beautiful (almost) full moon this week . . being so close to Heathrow there are always planes passing overhead . . this photo of one coming into land shows how close we are . . and this one's probably off to somewhere hot (but we're not jealous!) . .

whilst the parakeets seem to be getting tamer every week . .

just a word about the photos . . they may appear a bit blurred but that's because they're low resolution, and if you would like a high resolution version of any of the photos, please get in touch, tell me which photo and I'll gladly send you the file.

I come along to parkrun events to take photos for the same reason as we all run them, for enjoyment and fun, and although I do sell photos taken at other races, I don't sell those that I take at parkruns.

You're also welcome to download the photos from these Bedfont Lake parkrun pages, but if you use them for anything that others may see, please tell them the race photographer dot com took it. Thanks!
