Once all the runners had set off towards Herbert's Hole from Chesham I strolled down the course looking for a good vantage point and I found one on the final hill (inevitably) just where the runners run up into the woods. Whilst waiting for the first runner it was amusing to see this pair of runners crossing the field they would be marshalling in several times . . whilst two of their colleagues tried to tie this gate open . .

these horses seemed to be wondering what was going on . .

before we noticed the leading runner heading our way . .
