For a February morning high in the Leicestershire hills, it turned out to be quite a nice day for racing (and in my case, walking and sitting down a lot) . .

and it's no wonder the Charnwood Hills Race is so popular . .

with stunning views . .

an interesting course, even from the limited view I had of it . .

keen racing and hard work right through the field . .

hard working and friendly marshalls . . and a Local Hero, so I'm told . .

and Cayke . .

and Mud . . (this was taken before 872 feet had raced up and down it, and yes, it was significantly more difficult walking back up it than it had been to walk down it!!) . .

so, all the necessary ingredients of a great event! Thanks to race organisers Bowline Climbing Club for having me along . . hope everyone had as much fun as I did
