Over the past couple of years I've come to know many of Alchester AC's members, and an extremely friendly bunch of people they are too. So it's always a pleasure to go to one of their races and take some photographs.

I'd had a bit of trouble with the light last year, in the final ½k, shining across the runners' faces, so this time I figured I'd try somewhere different, and I set myself a challenge . . to lug me and my camera equipment just over 1 kilometre in less than the time it'd take Anuradha Cooray to race almost 4k's . . I wanted to get to a position just short of the 4k marker for my photos . .

and much to my surprise I achieved it, without resorting to my car, and in time to get my breath back! Still had the same problem with the light though, with the result that not all the runners are shown on these pages, because the photos I took were either very good, or very poor . . and of course the latter aren't shown here. So my apologies if you can't find your photo, it's nothing personal - I just need to brush up my technique for fast runners in fading light . .
