We had a bright sunny morning at the start of the very first Bedford Clanger today, and probably for the first time in my life I went inside a tent in March!!

on the left is the moment I saw some runners headed my way at Oakley, reassuring me that I was in the right place . . and here's Rima, dragging her tyre around the Clanger, with evidence of having had to make a sudden stop at the first of the bridges at Oakley . .

there was a lot of running going on all day . . on the left is Check point 1 . . and to the right some happy runners closing in on the bridges at Kempston . .

we weren't the only ones having fun out running . .

and whilst I was taking photos of the runners there were plenty of other things attracting my attention

the clouds were making pretty pictures in the sky . . and on the water . .

reminders of our industrial and agricultural past . . with the windmill near Oakley and the bridge at Kempston . .

the beauty that nature achieves that we aspire to . . a lone sapling . . reeds bowing in the breeze . .

and the contrasts of colours . .

I want to make some remark about IKEA in relation to the green sign but the other sign reminds me of where I'll end up if I do . . so perhaps best not to mention this early example of utility privatisation then!!
