I'd visited Humber Bridge Country Park a number of times before, but had never made it to the parkrun that started up there last year. I just managed to get there before the first year was up, and received a warm welcome, loved the park, and really enjoyed myself . .

The park is in an old quarry, beside the River Humber, from which chalk was dug for over 600 years, until 1960 when the water table was reached and work had to stop. The exposed chalk left a series of white cliffs, which gave rise to the local name of Little Switzerland. The parkrun consists of 3 laps round some of this beautiful park's many paths and trails . .
