parkrun on a Thursday morning! The one day of the year when it's possible to run parkrun twice, each in a different location. For several weeks before Christmas, parkrunners all over the UK had been planning their parkrun doubles. Here in the Bristol area, the obvious double was Chipping Sodbury at 9am, and Pomphrey Hill at 10.30am. Those were the two parkruns I attended.

Other combinations were possible, however. It was possible to have double chips by running at Chippenham after Chipping Sodbury. Others chose to run at Southwick Country park near Trowbridge before heading north to Chippenham. And just across our two bridges, a Newport/Cardiff double was also possible.

Here's a short video of the start of the New Year's Day Chipping Sodbury parkrun . .

And below, photographs of some of the Volunteers, some runners in the distance, and one or two of the other things that distract a photographer when 238 parkrunners are flashing past. That attendance of 238 was Chipping Sodbury's highest ever attendance . . what a great start to the New Year . .
