This particular parkrun morning started off a little on the grey side, but by the time I'd clambered half way up the hill, the sun was peaking through the clouds and we even enjoyed some blue sky for a while. There was a wind up on the hill though, strong enough to blow my tripod over and spoil the video I was taking of everyone running up the hill. Fortunately I was able to film most runners on their way back down again . .

As usual at parkruns around the world, 30 minutes before parkrun was due to start, the park was almost empty, with just the team of volunteers there, ensuring that the morning's event would take place safely and promptly. And in the next few minutes, friends and strangers alike began to arrive from all directions, ready to run up to the top of the hill and back again at 9 o'clock . .
