I've been driving down to Weston for the 5 mile Prom run since 1990, when Race HQ was at the Tropicana, and we started half way along the Prom, and ran three full and two half lengths to make up the 5 mile distance. In those days I never quite managed to get home inside 30 minutes, towards the end of the 90s I was happy to finish within 36 minutes and nowadays I struggle to complete the course in under 50. Don't get old . .

I couldn't take part in the April 2014 Prom Run because of a chest infection (see "don't get old") but went along anyway to take some photos of friends zooming up and down the Promenade. I was blessed with what was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity, as the setting sun slowly sank below the Bristol Channel in the distance, with the runners passing across in front of it . .

This page shows lots of the other stuff there was to admire in Weston that evening, the colours changing almost by the minute as the sun descended . .
