At least one road led to Dundry on a recent Thursday evening, when runners flocked from all corners to take part in this popular race. Poor light and a photographer with the shivers conspired to produce a lot of fuzzy pictures, the best of which are on these pages . .

Race HQ was in the pub that sits in the shadow of Dundry church's distinctive tower. Once numbers had been collected, and the correct footwear pulled on, there was time for some to have a quick natter with friends, before making their way to the start . .

The crowd was a bit thin in places . . and I found a spot early in the first k to get photos of everyone whizzing past, before going for a walk around the village. I mistakenly thought that the course went back through Dundry at some point, but the absence of any signs or marshalls persuaded me otherwise, and I got back to Winford Lane, at about half way, in time to see most of the runners.

And then it was time to return to the village, to see almost everyone finish, whilst wondering what the view must be like on a clear day . . and then following everyone back to the pub to enjoy a glass of water and a crisp . .

Lots of things to enjoy and admire during the race . .
