It's become traditional for many Ashton Court parkrunners to wear fancy dress on the last Saturday before Christmas, and this year was no exception. After the run many of us enjoy a bring and share picnic-type thing in the Mansion courtyard. There's always too much for us to eat, and the excess goes to the Julian Trust Night Shelter, so nothing is wasted.

There were 253 participants this Saturday, a good number considering how many people seemed to be shopping that day.

Before we get to the photos, a couple of videos . . the first, of all the runners making their way up the hill, and the second, a much shorter Dalmatian special . .

This page gives us a look around Ashton Court, beginning with a view of the sun rising over Bristol, and some of the views from the hillside, together with a few glances at the crocodile of runners wending their way up the second hill towards the top of the course, and then wending it back down again.

The next page shows the volunteers preparing the parkrun start and finish area, and the parkrunners beginning to gather, ready to run. The last page shows the same volunteers, returning to run HQ, and waiting for the final few runners to complete their event, and then the cake and the smiles we enjoyed afterwards

In between, the pages labelled "going up" and "going down" are full of parkrunners, doing just that.
