You might argue that there's no such thing as a Longest parkrun, because for all their many differences, one of the things every parkrun has in common, along with the great people you'll meet there, and the fabulous volunteers who make it happen, is that they're all 5k . .

However, back in 2010 a group of avid parkrunners decided it would be a great idea to run several different parkrun courses on the Sunday closest to the Longest day . . and thus the Longest parkrun was born . .

This year there were three options . . Yorkshire, North London, and the original, in South West London. A prior engagement prevented me from recording a Yorkshire event in the morning, but I was able to take photos at the 4th leg of the North London event, at Highbury Fields in Islington . . and the 6th leg of the South West London event, alongside the Thames in Kingston, before joining in and running the final leg back where it all began, in Bushy Park . .

Thanks go to all those who worked hard to organise this year's Longest parkruns . . and congratulations to all who took part, in particular those who ran all seven events, and especially those who cycled or ran or used pubic transport to travel between events . .

To find my photos from Highbury Fields or Kingston, click on one of the photos below, or the buttons to the left, and they'll open in a new window or tab . .

The photos are low resolution . . if you'd like a better copy, e-mail me and let me know which one and I'll mail it back to you . .
