My first thought when I arrived at Eynsford this morning was that there were a lot of runners who had arrived early for the event. Moments later it had dawned on me that I wasn't an hour early as planned . . I'd arrived in the village at 8.30 - exactly the time the race was due to start . .

Feeling rather foolish, I drove on through the village to Lullingstone Country Park where I waited for the runners to come through on their 10k journey through the Darent Valley . .

So, no photos from before the race, or of the start . .

. . but I did enjoy sitting on this bench for around 40 minutes whilst all the runners came by . .

. . with this great view of the valley and the runners . .

. . and when over 550 pairs of feet had raced by . . followed by the two smiley sweepers . .

. . I finally reported to Race HQ, just in time to see a couple of the later finishers and the synchronised leg swinging . .

 . . and of course, the prize-giving . . here's the winning woman and man . .

My thanks to Swanley & District Athletic Club for having me along to take photos . . and as always to the runners for their smiles and waves . .

. . please use the buttons below, and at top left of this page, to find photos of the runners in Lullingstone Park . . the prize-giving . . and some views across the Darent Valley . .
