Welcome to Trent Country Park . . home, amongst many things, of Trent Park Running Club and their Triffic Trail 10k . .

I'd never been to Trent Country Park before, but once I'd driven past the entrance, turned round and made my way to the car park, it was a simple task to find my way around. .

And although I arrived extremely early, there was already lots going on at the Triffic Trail Race HQ . .

The views were great and I knew there'd be plenty for me to photograph . .

At 9.30 there was a Junior 4k race . .

After which I took my ladder for a walk to the end of the meadow and waited for the runners to race past . .

Didn't have to wait long before over 300 hundred runners came thundering past . .

Once they were gone, I made it to the 4k point ahead of them, and again to a place beside this obelisk in the final kilometre . .

The marshals were all cheerful and friendly . .

And I just made it back in time for the presentation . .

Before having lunch with some friends . . and then getting home, looking at these photos and finding myself on the back of a bus . . first time that's happened!

Many thanks to Trent Park Running Club for inviting me along, and thanks to all you runners who found the energy to smile and wave as you ran past - I can imagine how it felt to be running in that heat and I appreciated the positive reactions . .
