It was quite quiet at the Greenway an hour before the start of this year's JW Ultra - there were few indications that the area beside the old railway carriage would soon be full of runners (note to self - don't get there so early next time) . .

However it wasn't long before the car park began to fill up, and some of the more organised runners were posing for team photos . .

before suddenly that old carriage was surrounded by runners ready to test themselves once again on the 30 mile run to Bournville . . always amazing what people will do for chocolate!

At 10 o'clock the 5th JW Ultra was underway, and once the runners were out of sight we made our way to the Edstone Aqueduct . .

. . where really, it's impossible not to get some good photos . .

. . and as soon as the runners had crossed the road and railway, we moved on up to Lapworth, somewhere else where you just can't help taking good photos, it's such a lovely location . .

Sadly the same can't be said of the finish, squeezed in between railway and canal at Bournville . .

. . where what space there was began to fill with weary runners . .

Here's a final glimpse of the canal before we found our way to the Pavilion for the prize giving . .

As always, huge thanks are due to everyone concerned with the JW Ultra for having us along to record the day. Please use the buttons below and to the left (up at the top) to find your way around the photos.
