I popped across from Wigginton to Appleton Roebuck, the other side of the A64, to support at the Brass Monkey Half Marathon. I've run in the race a couple of times, and I've been along and supported before too, but I didn't have much time this year so went over to the half way point for an hour.

It was great fun - some of my friends knew I'd be there, whilst others didn't, and it was lovely to see their faces light up when they heard me. Quite flattering too, really . .

I got there a little early and had a lovely chat with these four Knavesmire Harriers first . . before walking a small way along the course to find somewhere where I could both see and be seen . .

So just one page of photos today . . and I must apologise because not everybody's in focus . . shouting at runners whilst taking their photos doesn't always lend itself to a clear and sharp image . .

. . a couple of tractors that demanded to be photographed . .

. . and the 2 leading men . . with 96 seconds between them at this stage . . and that margin was close to 4 minutes by the finish . .

 . . the first large group . . which I think was the race for 7th place . .

. . and the first two ladies . . 34 seconds apart here . . and they finished 34 seconds apart as well, except that second had overtaken and finished first . .

. . and here are some of the people I know, and saw in the crowd . . which is to say that I don't actually know all the Fetchies and Hyde Park Harriers shown here . . but I know so many of them that it would have been rude not to include their photos!!
