This year's Andy Reading 10k appeared to run very smoothly . . there was a bit of a breeze but nothing like the ice which had caused the race to be delayed 12 months ago . . and once again there was a full entry list, and 462 runners completed the event . .

CLIC Sargent was the chosen race charity, and you can learn more about their work if you click on the logo just below this photo . .

. . it's always useful to get some help with those pesky timing thingies . . probably more so after the race has finished and you've got to bend those tired legs and remove them . . maybe I'll stay at the finish next year!

. . as ever the runners gathered in the field before Paul led them to the start line with his determined stride . . and at 10.30 the starting pistol cracked and the runners' races were under way . .

. . and as they completed a lap of Chesterton I managed to get my step ladder to a point just beyond the 2k mark . . and wobbled and shivered as everyone hurtled by . .

Although this was my third year at the Andy Reading 10k, this was the first time that I realised you could just make out the runners on Weston on the Green airfield . .

With race winner Scott Hazell winning in a time of 32.45, we didn't have long to wait for him to come past, just a couple of hundred metres or so to go to the finish . .

. . whilst some of the runners were still on the airfield . . 40 minutes later and the 461 other runners had all gone by . .

. . everyone (including a grateful photographer!) won one of these t-shirts for their efforts . .

. . and some received trophies from Tabitha, who was there on behalf of CLIC Sargent . .
